They say a journey begins with a single step. Really though, for each of us, our journey begins with a single breath; and, once we have taken that first breath, we all become travelers in the journey of life.
The paths of our travel are complex, and we move along an infinite number of interconnecting vectors. Our paths are not merely physical; they are paths of knowledge, of enlightenment, of maturation, of change. In truth, our journey changes us, and as we change, the direction of our lives changes, too.
If you were given a snapshot or two of someone’s journey, you might see a moment unveiled, but you won’t understand the journey as a whole. Our journey is a story, and much of what transpires happens inside our hearts and minds. It is too complex to be understood merely by looking at physical images that convey its outward aspects. Our journey - the growth we experience, the knowledge we gather, the choices we make - writes the fascinating mosaic that, over time, becomes the story of our lives.
At different points in our lives, many of us find ourselves wondering if we might have chosen another path for our journey. This is strange, because so much of our journey is formed by the choices we make. We are creatures hard-wired to seek fulfillment, who have the gift of free will to pursue our talents and dreams, and the benefit of the wisdom of those who have made their journeys before us.
Yet, we struggle. Sometimes, our paths lead us to places of sorrow, fear, and isolation; places of physical, emotional and spiritual pain. We can end up circling these black holes of anguish, slowing being sucked in, swallowed up, trapped, without hope, because we fear that we have no good choices left. Sometimes, we feel even our faith has let us down.
Yet, hope remains. Choice remains.
You will discover a story about a journey filled with hope. It is a testament to the power of hope and the power of choice. This story is proof that, no matter how bad things can get, where there is faith, there is hope.
This is the story of Connie and Jim. In a world of six billion people, Connie and Jim found each other, against all odds, at a point when their lives were filled with despair, futility, and hopelessness. They came together and were able to carve out a place in their world where true love could take seed, blossom and flourish. How this happened can be explained by one simple sentence;
It was a miracle.
This miracle started with prayer, which, in turn, was said, because they believed.
The prayer was simple – Lord, I am ready to do what you want. From that moment, change began to happen, and two lives were brought together in a way that cannot be accounted for by chance or circumstance.
And here are some things about miracles. You only need to be ready to do what God wants, to have the proper mindset of openness and willingness, and the miraculous will happen. It may not be what you think will make you happy, but it will be what God knows will bring you happiness. And, a miracle will not only change your life journey, it will keep changing it. Once a miracle starts, it doesn’t stop. You only need to let it fill you up and keep directing you.
This union has brought together two people who share, first and foremost, a deep, abiding love, a truly spiritual bond that resonates through everything else. They enjoy together many interests, many goals.
Connie and Jim have embarked on a new journey. Through their choices and through God’s intervention, they have begun to walk a light-filled path, sharing their lives and interests along the way.
